Nick has over 3 decades experience in business including as Managing Director of a company employing 200 people and as Finance Director of a company with contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars. He has experience of finance raising, acquisitions, growing business, general management and marketing.
Although born in Canada and living in the Middle East for some of his childhood, his parents are from Hartlepool, he has lived on Teesside, in County Durham, Newcastle and now Northumberland. His roots are firmly planted in the North East.
Since 2017 he has been actively involved in local politics as a Conservative Northumberland County Councillor where he has been cabinet member for finance, chaired a scrutiny committee and represented the county on the Northumbria Police Panel and other regional bodies. Nick has been a Conservative candidate in two general elections.
He firmly believes our region will become stronger if we can turbo-charge our economy by encouraging entrepreneurship, helping businesses grow and securing inward investment from the rest of the UK and further afield. Regional politicians and national government have a duty to make this a priority.
